Thanks! Getting ready for our muzzleloader season. This year I am again using my smokeless 44 cal muzzleloader. 315 gr paper patched bullet at 2503 fps, over 4000 ft lbs of energy. I call it the Safari Grade 44 SML. It mimics the SG 444, or the AA! Should get the job done with ease. Took last years muzzleloader season deer with it. Dropped on the spot...DRT!

I know what you mean, if I kicked today, the total chaos my wife and family will go through in the shop alone would be formidable! Let alone the dealing with my Guns! My kids were never gun nuts like me, heck they thought I was weird! Your doing the correct things, as we set now, life’s to short, I sure would have liked to have meet you! But I do have a part of you in the AA! Good luck Brother!

And I still have the 444 ball cap you sent me. Kept it as a memento. Your input, vast experience, and support on the 444 was the guiding factor in helping me achieve my SG goals and that was so appreciated that I enshrined that ball cap. So a part of Starrbow will reside in its honored dwelling place in my shop. Well, take care Starrbow and keep in touch if you so choose.

I am 75 and still kickin"...for how long I dont know but I am trying to make the best of the time I have left.

Yes Starrbow I am still kicking but had medical issues at the beginning of the year (liver cancer). Did not have much time for anything else. That is all said and done for now and I even got to go deer hunting! Thanks for asking! Its nice to be remembered! LOL!!!

Flat Top, I was wondering if you had ever shot your 444 or 35 rem without forearm, and mag tube attached to see what the absolute accuracy of the action and barrel were without impairments of the afore mentioned parts? Figuring of course that you would have to rest the action itself on the sandbag.

    Just curious, Phil

Only a moderator can do that, and although I can, you need to contact mr fixit as he is the moderator for that section and handles those types of things.

    Flat Top,
You mentioned racing several times. What type of racing do you do?

Hey fellow 444 shooter! I gotta tell you your research and development of the 444 cartridge has inspired me. I have found a respect for the cartridge, and those willing to explore it from your post. Thanks for your research!

30calpal here. Name is Anthony 'Tony' Wilson, attorney in Alabama. Gun nut, certified. If the 400/444 comes to life, I recommend that it be dubbed 400 Wilson-** (insert your last name). 400 W-* for short. What say you?
