    45/70 cycle question

    Hi guys!
I was having a look at my rifle while cleaning it. I noticed that the bolt and the hammer come incontact once the bolt has cocked the hammer but if you keep the hammer down the bolt clears it.

Is this normal or is there a way to keep the hammer down to get a smoother cycling action?

    Thanx
    Regards
    Eddie
