How to read NEW Marlin production year

How does one determine the year of manufacture from the new RM serial numbers? I e-mailed the factory support to ask how, but they wanted me to provide a serial number to them instead of telling me how to read it. All I wanted is to know how to read the new serial numbers for year of manufacture.

The month and year info is stamped on the barrel for us to figure out...

    BarrelCodes.jpg

Marlin can look up the same info with the serial # but there is nothing in the serial number for us to decode...

Okay, elfmagic17, if I read this code correctly, it is a variation of the "Dirty Word Code." BLACKPOWDERX represents the months. I would also assume that this code will remain constant for the months.
The year code begins with "E," when Remington production began, and continues sequentially. Using the barrel info provided by Scorpiusb, a code of "RL" should mean the rifle was made in November 2017.
    Thanks for the info, guys.

Hi guys. I’m new to the forum. Wondering if anyone knows how to decode MR85146H? I’m getting it as a 2015 based on other threads I’ve read to minus 2100 from the first two digits.

    OK i'm lost. I just picked up a GBL ser # MR04722B.
The only barrel markings are on the right side and is the rep in the oval with the letter s next to it.
The gun is marked as being made in CT.
Any idea on the year of this gun? Seller said he bought about 7 years ago if that helps.

    Thanks guy's.

You can call Marlin and they can decode the serial number to give you date of manufacture... The only way we have is the code in post's 2 & 3... Or if you have the box you can post a pic of the end where the label is...
