    Boyds stock input

    Happy Holidays to all!

For sometime I have been considering putting a BOYDS stock on my XS7 7-08.
But I can not decide between the Classic and the Prairie Hunter?
But now with Christmas, its a good excuse to buy one.
I Appreciate any input / comparisons / likes-dislikes between the two.

Also on my Boyds stock I have on another rifle seems very "slick" forearm, grip, and cheek weld.
    Any advise here?

    Cheers,
    MB

I have the classic, but if I were buying another, I'd go for the Prairie Hunter. I am developing more of an appreciation of a good cheek weld when shooting. I like the looks of the classic better, but I would go for the raised comb.
I think Boyd's is offering a discount on checkering right now. Get the stock checkered in one of his different checkering options. I believe he offers four different checkering patterns to choose from.

    IM on stand-by with Boyds.

They sent me a stock for a Marlin XL7 and when I put the screw in the front of the trigger guard the foregrip cracked before the screw was even tight.

We have been back and forth with e-mails,,,but I dont know what there gonna do yet......

I have both styles and much prefer the Prairie Hunter. It just fits me better.

I have 3 Boyds stocks and all three have the thumbhole ........ I wouldn't buy a stock now unless it has a thumbhole . The quality and look of the Boyds stocks are a fantastic value @ $99 bucks !

I also have 3 of the thumbhole stocks. 1 on a223 rem 700 and 2 on 243 and 25-06 marlins. I really like them and the marlins both shoot 1 inch to less groups ( they shoot better than me). the best stocks for the money I have ever bought. ken

I have 2 thumbholes on a .300 and a 30-06. Like them but want to try something different and trying for a different look

I think I have pretty much decided on the Prairie Hunter. I Just need to place the order now, hopefully after the 1st of year.

    Thanks for the input.
