Remington owns and builds the Marlin firearms now...?

As the title says; Remington owns and builds the Marlin firearms now...? When did this all come about and happen (?) My memory isnt what it use to be, somebody might have told me awhile back, but i vaguely remember it.
As with any take-over, there is usually some processes and manufacturing effected... my question i have for you guys "in the know", what has their quality been like after the take-over (?)
If any of the sale of Marlin is true, it will never effect the older Marlin`s i have, those will be with me till the day i take my last breath... BUT, the new ones concern me, greatly.
I set up a poll in the thread, vote in your answer about quality & issues, the good the bad the ugly.

I`m actually looking into a new 22mag, and that new Savage B22 MAGNUM sure has my attention. Seeing some pretty decent reviews on youtube about them.

    EDIT:
The last Marlin i bought was my 982VS (Bull Barrel) The barrel is stamped - Made by Marlin Firearms Co, in North Haven Ct. Serial #96671xxx
Was this made buy remington? I`m unsure because i dont recall when they got bought up by reminton.

Welcome to MO from Midcoast Maine. Some of the new Marlin's are good, others not so good. What you get seems to be a crap shoot so look em over good before you buy. I do own an early Remlin that I will never part with.

My recently purchased XT 22WMR Bolt action has a wonderful trigger that agrees with my finger.
Bolt action sequence started smoothing out after just 20 rounds.
    It groups really good IMHO.
This model came from Walmart but none to be found anymore It seems.

My only gripe Is the magazines, they look and feel chinese cheap.
I purchased an extra 7 rounder and all three work fine.
They go into the rifle ok, but not perfect, they come out ok but not perfect, But Hey this is not a combat rifle.

For the money I like it.
My new Ruger bolt action 22LR model 8301 cost $100 more and Is far more elegant..

Thank you for the link, it was very helpful! It actually brought back some things to me that i had forgotten about, so thank you for that!

I`ve owned marlins for many many decades, actually just blowin the dust off a few of them and throw some lead spitballs downrange for a change. I had been away from shootin 22`s for so long, i had forgotten what i use to know about them. Thats when i did the search on the internet and ran across this forum. Wishin i had found it sooner, lotta great info in here. Thank you guys
