sorry to hear this.
A few weeks ago I sent My brand new 3030 back to marlin because the front sight fell out of the box when I opened it. They sent a shipping label and almost a week later it made back to marlin.. It was a simple fix really, the threaded hole the front sight was screwed to needed to be retapped and a new screw used to hold on the front sight. Well I got it back on 0325 and it looked ok so I was happy.. Took it to the range this morning 0326, shot ten rounds thru it. Got home and while I was cleaning the rifle, the front sight fell off again. I could see the problem was the same as it was when I sent it in.. They didn't even try to tap out the broken screw, the just used the one that was in there screwed it in to where it might have been grabbing one thread and sent it back to me.. The only reason I am posting this is because if that's the type pride marlin takes in making and or fixing their firearms, I'm not sure if I will do business with them again
sorry to hear this.
Unfortunately, Remington uses Dollar Store Scotch Tape, bubble gum, particle board and blind robots in the manufacturing of today's Marlin ("Remlins," as they're affectionately referred to). It's a shame that they've let the Marlin brand go downhill like they have. It's like they've flown the plane straight to the crash site...
Welcome to the forum, by the way. Sorry to hear of your misfortune.
Don't blame you at all. I would raise hell with them but they don't really care I am sure. Then fix it myself as I don't think that you would want the guy that worked on it last time doing anything more to it.
Groundhog Day ! I feel for the OP, but aren’t we past the time of giving up on Remington/Marlin and letting them fade into obscurity.

they cant handle a front sight!. how is anyone supposed to have confedence in the rifle being safe! your next box should contain $$$$$ . god knows what may be in it! let us know. best of luck.
FWIW Marlin isn't made by JM Marlin employees anymore. It's made by Reminton who bought Marlin. And in Illion NY
Go find a used good condition JM Marlin. You;ll see a world of difference.

That is a shame and sorry about your situation. Hopefully, you get the issue resolved.

It is really to bad that Remington that once was a premier brand has fallen to where it is. I will not use their rimfire ammo or even their centerfire ammo anymore, I thought it was just my rifle that didn't like Remington 30-30 but I bought a couple of boxes at Wally's to give it another try and had 2 misfires. They wouldn't even go bang when I tried them again. I am on a rimfire forum and one of the posts asked what was the worst ammo people had ever shot (or in Remington's case attempted to shoot) 4 out of 5 wore the Remington brand.
I will not give Remington one more of my $.
