    Never buy a remlin

i just recieved my 1895sbl that i sent into marlin because the the front sight was way off center. it is still off center. 1000 dollars for a gun with bad sights , not to mention the fact that if i sell it i won't even get what i paid for it because of the sights. yes I bought the gun online, but that should not matter. I have henry's I bought online and each one was excellent quality. marlin just lost me as customer. my next gun will be a henry.

Are you sure the front sight isn't just adjusted incorrectly.

In their defense, when I first received my SBL I thought the same thing ... until I adjusted the XS Front Sight Blade.

    Never buy a remlin

i just looked over my 1895sbl again. instead of fixing the front sight, marlin just angled the xs rail so when you look through the rear peep sight it lines up with the front sight. marlin sucks. that company is a joke.

That’s why I always buy JM, or don’t buy at all. Too many horror stories for me to take a chance!

I have owned a couple of Remlins. Both good guns mechanically but lacking in the furniture department. My golden rule with Remlins is only buy if you can literally hold it in your hands and inspect it before paying out the cashola.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I would call them and raise cain and tell them you want another rifle.

You'll have to show us pics so that we know what you're talking about.

I have a hard time understanding what you mean by "Angled the xs rail ...." .

Mine all sit flush, and there isn't a way to 'angle' it.

There are a few marlin models that I would like to own but threads like this and some examples I have seen in the stores are proof that I cannot buy one yet. Really hoping to see things get better but every year that goes by I lose more and more hope that it will get tuemrend around. It is news to me that a new remlin is retailing for $1000. Some of the rarer used Marlins I can understand but not a new remlin with their current quality standards.
