Good work. I have two modern Marlins that don't seem to fit into the picture: 1894 Cowboy Limited sn020080xx and a Model 336 and a 336cb 38-55 sn0100287xxx. I am more interested in the total number of these that were in production then anything else as I am trying to get my "toys" in order and figure out what they are worth when I decide to sell or add them to my estate. I was told the 1984 Cowboy was a special run produced by Davis. (No the Marlins are not for sale...sorry)
Great info, thanks! Your list shows the 1936 produced only in 1936-37. Some folks are adamant that my gun with a B prefix was made in 1941. What I read in Brophy's book says the the B guns were made at the same time as the nonprefix guns. I may get a definitive answer to this question.
