    Marlin 1893 twist rate

A few years ago I posted on here about a Marlin 1893 in 30-30 caliber I had acquired. I got a ton of good information including a manufacture year of 1913. I was giving it a real thorough cleaning today and as I looked down the barrel the twist rate looked to be rather fast. Could someone tell me what the twist rate is for these Marlins? Thanks in advance.

According to the Brophy book, the twist rate for Marlin .30-30s is 1 in 10.

The .30-30 and other smokeless caliber Marlins actually all had pretty fast twist rates back in the day. Comparing the 1893 smokeless twist rates with BP twist rates, shows quite a difference!

This twist rate looks much faster than todays 30-30 in both Marlins and Winchester. That is what prompted my question. I need to take the rifle to the range but I would like an idea of twist rate so I could pick a bullet rate that would be best for it.
