Just got it! Circa 2002 1895GS. Not NIB, has been fired, but other than being dirty, I can't find a single mark on it anywhere. Came equipped with XS ghost ring sights.
Don't anticipate any further additions to the safe for awhile; just ask the Mrs.!

Hard to believe I typed and post the above just over a year ago. I was in fact able to pick up two straight stock Marlins. One, a 1958 Mountie and a LTS. Missed out on at least three Texans because I was late to notice the ads, but I am not disappointed in the ones I was able to acquire.
This year, I am going to focus on a couple of 1911s I would love to own. So, just going to keep my eyes open and be ready in case something turns up. Same as last year. lol

20180425_191529.jpgI bought one on a whim last week....came to the FFL yesterday, I tore it completely apart this evening after work, removed all the factory grease and oils, replaced with CLP....and now she looks like one "my" guns I'll say one thing....Mossberg sends a gun out the door in great shape.....clean as a pin inside, well lubricated, and lubricated with what appeared to be a great quality oil too. I could have just shot this thing right out of the box for 10 years and been just fine. Well done Mossberg!!

I think I may have answered this one before. Maybe?

    Frankly not a doggone one.

Re handguns, I've got pocket pistol, duty handgun, hunting handgun, and target handgun covered.

Re shotguns, all I do with them is hunt upland game; chukar, pheasant, quail, grouse and huns. Covered.

Re rifles, I can shoot matches competitively, or hunt any small or big game that walks the planet. Ya, I'm okay there too.

These days I just shoot to improve my marksmanship, and for pleasure. I don't "need" any more guns of any kind. Oh - and it isn't that big a collection.

    Regards, Guy

Everyone is different. For me guns are like knives, fishing rods and tools, I can never get too many.

I am not planning to buy:
This year i am planning to use my 1886 .50 Express for the 2018 years moosehunt.
I need to get a hunting registration (license) for the gun: At the moment i have a collectors registration for it and am not alowed to hunt with the gun.
Honestly: When was the last time you saw anyone shoot a moose with an original .50 Express ?
Wish i didn't know now what i didn't know then.
