    Question Archery????

How many of ya'll shoot bows?

I shoot recurve bows and hunt with my compound bow. Plan to turkey hunt with my compound this spring and I am planning some leather work for those that shoot archery tournaments. I will be posting a couple quivers and arm guards this year.

I have been banging my head trying to come up with something that is kind of traditional or at least more like something that would be used back before gun powder that is fairly easy to put on with one hand. I am making one that is carved up and used three small buckles to attach it to your arm instead of elastic. Hopefully I will have it done by the end of next week, just gotta get my other orders done first.

The problem that I want to try and solve is a quiver for hunting with broadheads that is comfortable, simple and works with a back pack that does not use modern day rubber etc.

Not sure if I can do it or not.

Yes, Colorado Bighorn (Fred Asbell) recurves an Dan Quillian (Archery Traditions, Athens, Ga.) longbow. I also hunt with vintage Bear recurves. No picture available of my quiver at this time, sorry.

I was a recurve shooter for over three decades. My last bow was a custom take down model by Owen Jeffrey. But an unhealed elbow fracture ruined it for me. These days I hunt with a compound crossbow fitted with a 4X scope. It's accurate and deadly!

I used to hunt with a 60 lb Kentuckian Halfbreed (half recurve/half longbow), but a shoulder starting acting up on me from years of abuse working in my younger years. I can manage a 40-45 lb recurve now, and have an older Mathews compound I haven't pulled back in probably 6-7 years. However I love shooting a bow! Especially using a recurve shooting flu flu's while chasing milk jugs and such around the yard!

I shoot with a tab and haven't used an armguard in years, but I am interested in seeing your leather work!
