Thanks for the encouragement been making cuffs and knife sheaths for family who pay for material Tandy gets a lot of my money. I hope to improve enough to sell some around my neck of the woods. Since retirement and cold weather it nice to have a hobby

Sounds fun Denny. Any recommendations on getting started? I've been thinking about doing something like this myself. Thanks for any help.

Good work, it's nice to do things that not many people don't want to fool with anymore. If they can't do it with an electronic device, it ain't gonna happen.

Get the beginners book by Al Stohlman. Good illustrations and easy to understand. Take your time and just give it a shot. Then you can get his books on make cases and pouches, sheaths holsters etc. Give it a shot.

Also, now a days, youtube is your friend. I never had that when I was learning and was already doing leather work professionally before the internet was even around. Heck we barely had car phones. Not cell phones, car phones! LOL

Nice work. I took up leather working as a hobby when I retired. Was inspired after looking at Levergun's outstanding work. (Thanks Lever.) Leather is such a great material to work with. It's great to just get an idea and take a piece of leather and go to work. I especially enjoy making things for friends and family. I make knife sheaths, holsters, slings, belts, cases, pouches, etc.

Latest project for a friend's Thompson Center Contender.
