A tip of my hat to all you find gentlemen for your service. A special thanks to Devil_Dog and Joe in FL as they work the streets that me and my family use everyday.

I do my best to forget about work when I am off, but what the heck, I'll play. 25 years Law Enforcement service and still active duty full time. I have worked for four agencies and most currently 17 years with one of the largest Sheriff's dept's in California. Narcotics Detective for 7 years, 3 years working Sex Offenders, property crimes, Metro, and Gangs. Currently back in patrol due to budget cuts and roll backs, but that is ok because I am really enjoying patrol with great days off and lots of seniority. I rarely write tickets because I do not believe in stabbing the honest tax paying contributing American citizen with an additional tax for some frivolous violation. No job satisfaction in writing tickets and for that reason I would never work for a PD or Highway Patrol.

May God make smooth the paths you follow!

Ive worked for the Ca Department of Corrections now for 18 years. Ive worked with miminum to maxium security inmates. Im currently the yard gunner overlooking a maxium security yard. I would rather be using my 336 instead of the dept's ruger m-14. But oh well, at least we still have guns online. Yes, Ca has been talking about taking your guns for years now.

I retired in 2003 after 3o years on a local Township PD in NJ. I had no future when I returned from Vietnam (Army Air Cav Unit) and took the test. Those Pd years were great. Traffic and Safety Officer, Accident Reconstructionist.

Retired from the job. A bit over 25 altogether, most of it in a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth. Bulk of my time was in Patrol as a field supervisor, finished at an administrative rank. Moved out of the city and back where I belong. Work for the State now in a non-LEO position.

I'm new to the forum but I'm glad to see that there's a LEO section here. I'm a Deputy Sheriff in Georgia with almost 3 years in Law Enforcement. Prior to that, I was a Paramedic and worked in EMS for 20 years before going to the police academy. I work in the Uniform Patrol division.

I became a Deputy for Currituck County Sheriff's Dept. in 1988. I left in 2001.I spent my first 11 years as a patrol officer the last 2 as a DVO officer.I started my own construction business when I left. When the constuction industry crashed I decided to get back into Law Enforcement. The timing was bad on my part, election year, no Sheriff's hiring. Went threw BLET and was hired for Detention Officer for Albemarle District Jail. This a 3 county jail with 250 max. capacity. Been here 2 years.
