Does anyone know of a shop that would bother to send a hunting knife and a butcher knife to Sweden?

I do and I'm a fair hand at it but no time for such of late. I made a fixed blade from an Old Timer 125OT a few years back. It's the most used knife in the kitchen.

Amazon could probably get you one unless these are restricted due to Swedish or EU regulations....

    I couldn't resist. American made 1095 WITH a sheath for $20.00...
    Here's a first look:

And a quick test of the factory edge.. Better than a lot of knives.. It will shave arm hair out of the box. It's not as sharp as a factory new Buck or Spyderco - but it's a LOT sharper than most knives including all the other Ontario knife company knives I have bought...

First thoughts: This is a real knife - not some shiny pot-metal import made of silver chewing gum... A fantastic deal for $20. I would like a choil and a small finger guard... Perhaps round off the square edges of the handle and add a hole for a lanyard.

Bought this Old Hickory at a thrift store. Made it into my Camp knife but I carry it in my bag every day

Old Hickory knives are made of great high carbon steel. Easy to keep an edge on their knives.

    A quick update.

This is a fantastic knife for it's $20.00 price tag. It's a type of knife that seems to have been left behind by the knife buying public - the plain old Carbon steel hunting/camp knife. I wouldn't hesitate to give it to a boy for a first fixed blade knife.

    On to the specifics:
Sharpening Ontario's 1095 is easy and straight forward with whatever gear you have. You can strop it with a good leather belt and it responds well to a quality knife steel.

The handle is minimalist but it is marginally more rounded off than the standard Old Hickory knife. I personally would have liked a more rounded profile. I personally would like to have a bolster of some sort. I think it needs a finger guard and a choil. I have this in mind for a future project.

The primary bevel is sort of short. I personally like a little lower bevel angle to make cutting easier.

The edge is also fairly thick behind the edge - which increases cutting resistance. At some point - I will try to figure out how to reprofile the primary bevel a bit and thin out the blade behind the cutting edge a bit.

In terms of blade shape - it seems fine for a general purpose field and camp knife. I would like a pointier tip for making initial cuts through hide in game. The curved end of the blade does slice well though.
