Knifemaker - good wood guy ????

I posted here last year looking to find a knife guy and or good wood guy to help me in restoring a handful of bayonet grips and a combat type knife. They were in a fire and all the wood grips were destroyed. It's beyond my wood butcher skills to make correct looking replacements. I found one guy last year - but he said he wasn't skilled enough. Found another knife maker and he only wanted to mess with his custom knives.
So any help in finding a guy to do this kind of work would be greatly appreciated. The bayonets I salvaged from the fire I want to pass on to my son, so it's not like I need it right now or anything like a hurry. It seems odd I can't find anyone whom professes the want or ability to do such work.

You could try Bill DeShivs, he seems to do custom work and restoration work.

It's what you learn after you know it all that makes a difference.

Here's his web site, looks like he does a lot of knife restorations, he might be willing to work on the bayonets for you. Click the contact us link and send him a message. He'll probably want to see photos, I know I would before I gave an estimate.
