    My New Barkie Arrived Today

Yup, my new Magnum Fox River knife made by Bark River arrived today, and it is sweeeeeet! Excellent fit and finish, very solid, .2 inch thick blade of A2 tool steel, and a heavy duty and well-made sheath. I'll be buying more Barkies. This is my second and I'm sold. My next blade will be 3V. Here are the mandatory pics. Notice the solid construction of both the knife and the sheath. The discoloration on the sheath is from the neetsfoot oil I applied protect it and loosen it up a bit.

That is truly beautiful. I don't know how much you paid but IMHO it was worth it.

For under $240 shipped I am very pleased.

That is a really good looking rig. Looks like it would balance very well in hand.

Yes, it does balance quite well. The heavy leather sheath will take some breaking in. It's pretty stiff.

That is a pretty knife. I pretty much don't carry fixed blades anymore, just lock blades for convenience. However, that one certainly looks good to me.

My daily knife is a small lock blade, but when I go out to wilder areas I like to have a good fixed blade with me. It is one of the most important basic survival tools to have in your kit.

Just ordered a Barkie JX6 in 154 tonight. Hope it’s a good Skinner, small size, with the blade profile. Time will tell. I’m partial to Bark River!

Be careful. Before you know it you will have a lot of them hanging around as safe queens.

I have more than I care to admit. My favorite is the canoe model but like the gunny as a user. I really like their small pocketable fixed blades. I have a mini canadian, adventurer and essential that see daily carry use a few times each every month.
