I was in 7 th grade history class when JFK was shot. WE are way past time to release the paper work on what happened in Dallas.

Fifth grade. The teachers got real quiet and stopped teaching. The were out in the hall talking. A TV set was brought into our class room and turned on for us to watch the news and special report bulletins. I think there was an announcement over the PA system that Kennedy had been shot, but none of the teachers talked with us about it. Even at age 10 the kids in my class were pretty upset about it. I remembered thinking it was the perfect time for the Russians to attack. (It was the middle of the Cold War, after the Cuban missile crisis, and the Bay of Pigs.

School was dismissed on time and then cancelled until after the funeral.

I've heard it said, when recalling major events, people comparing remembering where they were as similar to to those who remember where they were when JFK was shot. Mostly by folks who weren't around when JFK was shot. DAMN few events in history since Nov. 22, 1963 evoke that level of remembering that that one does. Like remembering the look on the face of the girl sitting in front of me in 3rd Grade class as she spun around and looked at me in horror hearing the announcement coming over the classroom PA speaker. I still even remember her name-- the mental visual is like it was yesterday. Our teacher, Mrs. Moore, unable to hold back her tears...

Four years old and walking home from kindergarten (yes, you could do that then.) My older brother had it on TV when I got home. If anyone has the impetus and the time (1632 pages), read Vincent Bugliosi's excellent book "Reclaiming History" that proves IMHO that Oswald acted alone.

I was told a memory is only as good as the last time you thought of it. That was a proffessional clinical psycologist, so may be so.
