Thinking of Henry 17HMR... any one have any experience with them?

I am looking for a 17HMR (I all ready have 22 mags) I think having a 17HMR in a lever action would be nice. Has any one shot the Henry 17HMR rifles?

I have two Henrys -- a Frontier and a Golden Boy both in 22LR and they are super guns. Henry is great to deal with. I sure wouldn't be afraid to buy anything made by Henry as Mr Imperato has sent me several messages. Best customer service in the business! John

It's great to hear that someone is still doing business the old fassion way and just goes to prove that you can still turn a profit doing it that way!

I've had one for about a year now and it's the cat's pajamas!

Well ferel cats no longer need to worry about pajamas, and it's quiet enough that the neighbors don't come running out in their pajamas when I shoot one at midnight like they used to w/ the ol' 30-30...

mine likes 20grainers, Hornady or CCI.

I have not had any interest in the 17HMR until I read this.

Re: Thinking of Henry 17HMR... any one have any experience with them?

I bought the "blued" Octagon barreled .17HMR so I could mount a scope on it and utilize its flat trajectory. Mine was accurate with 17gr bullets, but I never got around to see how the 20gr's shot before I traded it for a Golden Boy. I love Henry's "slick" action and balance. Either the .17 or .22Mag make for a neat "farm walk-about" gun that can do in some pretty good "sized" varmints within reasonable ranges.
