Re: New Henry in the house ... pictures ...

I had a Henry .22 mag on layaway for my daughter's (8 yo) birthday/Christmas present, (she was born Christmas Eve), picked it up today, She is dying to hunt with me, have taken her a couple of times and we did get one on our last outing. Anyway, I hope to be able to keep it a secret til then. I know I can put it with the rest of my rifles and no-one would notice. Thats how I slip them all in.

    Bjm,

With the lack of availability of old Marlin 39's in general, I really am starting to get a case of Henryitis thanks to your photos.

I'm trying to find parts for my wife's Mossberg 402A. Great shooter when it shoots. It has a failure to fire issue. The gun was given to her by her mother when her father passed. I married the tomboy the fathers favorite.

I think my wife would look good with a Henry. ( rifle that is ).

You will NOT be disappointed in a Henry .22 rifle as there are several models to choose from. I liked three different models and waited until I found some nice wood on one.

Shameless plug. If you get a Henry, there is a Henry forum .

BJM is right, Henry's are lot's of fun to shoot and the action is butter smooth. I wanted a Mountie, but after getting my Frontier I'm perfectly happy and see no need for a Mountie anymore.

I love my Henry Frontier for its form and function and just the way it points and shoots flawlessly! I also really want a 39A, for those reasons, but its more. They have been made for so long, so much history around the model 39! I saw one on Gun Broker that was made in 1955, the year I was born. It was all I could do to keep myself from bidding!
Can I not have both?? Is it too much to ask??

I am not familiar with the Henry centerfires but the rimfires are excellent rifles. My Henry makes the trip everytime I go shooting.

I have three 39s, got the same model Henry last Christmas. Good gun, smooth and reliable. I am now thinking of a .22 mag frontier. Enjoy.
