I guess I really don't see the need, wouldn't a sling shot work as well?

I believe Marlin made a version of this 25 to 30 years ago. I think it was based on the Model 25 rimfire bolt gun but had a smooth bore for close-up use in the garden.

The Marlin is a 25 MNG,smooth bore magnum. It does a great job on in town squirrels, feral cats, other on wanteds. It kills much better than the long rifle version.A very hard to find.I am a big fan of Henry rifles,I'm sure its nice

Even with a low MSRP of $420 bucks, (the Henry) I don't think I would get my money 's worth out of one. Maybe I'll run across a used beater for a $100 bucks one day.

Remington made a bolt smoothbore also. Never saw the utility.

I’ve had and used these smooth bore garden guns for years. They are great when a 410 is too much, as inside a barn or building. I sold my last savage a year ago and now find myself needing something like this for chipmunks near the house.

There used to be mini clay birds for 22lr. There was a range by my house.

One type had a thrower mounted on the rifle.
