Just got a H&R rifle in 223, does it suppose to have an extractor or an ejector ?

Could be either, depends when it was made, 1987 to ~2007 they were ejectors, 2007-on all centerfire rifle barrels were extractors, rimfire and shotguns remained ejectors through the end of production in 2015. H&R started using extractors in 2004 and over the next few years all CF rifle production was changed to extractors. The NEF brand was also dropped in 2007.

Good information! I did not realize they did not make anymore under the NEF name after 2007.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
