It's been a heck of a week. Stuck in the house because of this virus thing since I meet two high risk categories. The grandkids (who've been with us the whole time), the dog (Pomeranian yapper) and the wife are driving me crazy.

On top of that, a couple of nights ago the wife was in the livingroom on the phone with her sister when a bullet came through the window. She wasn't hit. Actually hurt herself more tripping over stuff trying to get out of the living room. Seems someone was after a guy that was sitting in his truck about a block down the road. Cops said they lit off 40-50 rounds and only hit him twice. Once in the leg and a graze on the back of the neck. Whatever they were using was on full automatic. Even the Marine Corps realized you can't hit anything with any accuracy on full auto and changed to the 3 round burst mode. A house about a half block back toward the shooting took 2 bullets in their livingroom. Luckily, no one hit.

I was in the bedroom when it happened. I came running out armed and ready to return fire but it was over by the time I made it to the front of the house. I didn't realize the gunfire had come from almost a block away until after I got the wife out of the livingroom. It was a drive by hit. I don't know if the police caught anyone after the fact. I'd be surprised if the guy they were after will give the police any name(s). The law on the streets is that they settle it themselves.

It's gonna cost me whatever to get the window replaced (total cost less than deductible) but, my wife is still with me to drive me crazy. So, it ain't that bad.

Really nice Randy! Always liked the 1100. I've got an 1100 Magnum that's had thousands of rounds fired through it.

Fortunately, I have another job site I can go to on Monday for the time being and if not I can spend more time with my Dad. The Hospice nurse said if things stay the same with his eating it’ll be less than a month. My Mom thinks he’s going to make a miraculous recovery now that he is home. She’s grasping for anything and I get it, I just don’t want him to suffer anymore than he has to. She was trying to force feed him yesterday when I was there and he closed his mouth so tight she couldn’t. When she got up frustrated and walked away, he relaxed, looked at me and swallowed what little he had in his mouth. So I just held his hand and we watched the squirrels play at the feeder. He is more alert than he was in the hospital now that he is home, which I fully expected.

On a positive note my grandson Vinny turned 6 yesterday. Hard to believe he is 6 already. I love all of my grandkids, but he holds a special place in my heart.
My continued prayers go out to you sir, as well as your parents.

Really sorry to read this Gunny! Glad to hear that nobody was hurt. Were the grandkids there when it happened?

Nice looking shotgun. I had one years ago. It never failed to bark when the trigger was pulled. I ran into a need of capital years back and sold it. Dang.

Yeah, they were here. Fortunately, they were in a safe area. They were pretty rattled too though.

Jimmy glad it wasn't any worse, hope the family are settled back down now.
