Apparently we have something in Canada called an "opioid crisis"
They're trying to cut off all the chronic pain meds they have been pushing on us for years.
I went in to the Dr (and got a new one) to refill a year and a half old prescription ( I've had a script for decades since I wrecked my back) and he wanted me to fill out an "opioid contract"...
...that turned out to be a junky form! I was required to wave my right to medical confidentiality among other things. Lets just say I didn't take that very well. I pointed out that the prescription I wanted to refill was 1 1/2 years old and that if I was a junky I likely wouldn't have waited that long!
When he told me it was standard procedure and how he was trained, I said "they train you to insult your patients?"
Painted with the same brush as a druggy doesn't rub me the right way and I wasn't shy about saying so.
I didn't sign his junky form but left with my prescription and won't be seeing him again.
Boils my blood just thinking about it...
It ain't the years, it's the miles.

The opioid crisis here is sad.
But they do not advertise the fact the drugs for the most part are out of china and russia/eastern europe and Mexico.
Illegally imported mind you. Sold through TOR networks.
But the bigger issue is perscribing them for broken legs and stupid stuff like getting a tooth pulled.
