    Blade photo says Olean, NY, my home town!!!! KABAR is still there and going strong although some knives and sheaths come from China and Mexico.

    I possess a new Spec Plus SP1 from Ontario Knife Company. It's made in the U.S. to the same specs as the OP. But take a look at the "clip" edge, the upper edge. Mine came from the company already sharpened unlike many other clip point knives. what I like better about your KABAR is that the pummel is steel whereas mine is man-made, just like the rubber handle.
