When I was a littlun we used lard. Why is it that everything delicious is bad for you?

Lard makes the best biscuits and cornbread etc.

My mother saved all the grease from frying, and bacon dripping's , put it in a big jar.
Would scoop a big spoonful out, and put in the frying pan,
To fry up some home fried potatoes, or whatever.
It killed her she died at 92.

Good morning all. Yes, things that are tasty are no good for you. By the time you figure out how to talk to girls your talking to your granddaughter. Life eh?

My Mom used to sing that song to me. It was made popular by the Andrews Sisters before WW2. I got a lot of Greatest Generation cultural input.
