Has EBay now become just another full retail priced store?

I have been searching for a second Vortex 3x12 56mm Hog Hunter scope for another rifle and full retail on-line is $299.

OK, so i go to EBay thinking i might find one used for less, but all I see are new ones being sold by businesses for full retail also.
There is not even a way to eliminate the businesses from individuals like there is on ArmsList.

So, have the nice used parts we used to get on EBay from individuals like us also dried up now?

I too, notice a lot of retail business's selling on Ebay.............Not necessarily a bad thing, as I shop Ebay and Amazon to save time, gas and Taxes....................

BUT NOW!.......Since April 1st, 2019, I notice everything I buy on Ebay, I also pay sales taxes on..........I guess I'm still saving time and gas, though..........

Best strategy is to go to advanced search and you can sort or restrict by price.
You can even look up the trending prices.
That said I rarely shop fleaBay anymore.

One has to be VERY careful when shopping on eBay.
Watch the shipping charges (they are not refundable).

I recently bought a Redding BR3 from an eBay seller.
His price include both powder measure devices, and was substantially less than a number of the other internet vendors.
    I bought the deal.
The seller does a direct drop-ship from Redding, but only 1x a week or so.
I did have an 11 day wait, but I'm not in a rush, so no big deal.
The unit came directly from Redding, and I'm satisfied.

Check Walmart online. They have all Vortex scopes listed. The one you want is $299 there also. Online they as much new stuff as ebay/amazon.

It's not a scope I purchased on ebay yesterday, but a 65,000 mile JPM motor for my 2005 Titan! $1,699 plus $183 shipped to AAA terminal six miles from me where I will pick it up! Complete motor intake to pan! That's a deal. Can't shoot any deer with it or target practice! LKQ wanted $1500 for 100,000 plus motor, plus $200 shipping.

Got to shop price no matter where you buy , but I use eBay and Amazon a lot. Also try googling what you are looking for. And yes, it is getting harder to avoid sales tax so I try to find free shipping.

Been like that forever. Most of the time I can beat Ebay prices on Amazon.

I like eBay. Saved me time and money twice just this past year. I got tinted sunglasses magnified for reading, cheap, delivered to my mailbox in 3 days. I popped a tail light lens on the '94 Toyota loading firewood in February. Got a new set, both sides, for $14.95/free shipping. In my mailbox 4 days later. No complaints here. Amazon.com couldn't beat the eBay price.
Walmart.com has a surprisingly good selection of tools, small engine parts, and electronics, always a need for us (we?) repairmen. I got this laptop I'm using $60 cheaper than the Best Buy or Office Depot stores in town. Delivered to the pickup desk at my local WallyWorld in just under a week.

As always, shop for prices and free shipping. That's what makes Internet purchases so good. Last year Congress passed the sales tax legislation, so it's a permanent thing. Your State sales tax will be added on.

I do a lot of comparison shopping online. eBay/Amazon/online firearms dealers all get looked at hard..............
