The ones I saw at the NRA meetings had both loading gates and tube fed. I don't know why unless they just wanted to display them. I did not handle them as I already had my fingerprints on enough guns. The Remlins and Henery's I handled both looked and felt good to me.

People say money can't buy happiness But it can buy me a Marlin and ammo to shoot in it, dies, powder bullets...

It's Nuns on the Run for Remlin now. Either they step up the quality and customer service immediately or Henry puts the last nail in the coffin.
Time has run out for excuses.

Now you're just being foolish. Who in their right mind ever pays MSRP...whether we're talking about guns, cars, computers, etc.? Who cares what the MSRP is? It's the street price that matters. And the street price on the Henry steel models is almost always in the $600-700 range. The brass and CCH models are about $750-800.

I sent Henry an e-mail asking when we could expect the steel blued versions. The reply I got was “ just a matter of time”.

My experiences with Henry have been fantastic. I only have a youth model 22lr and my better half has a 357 carbine. I needed a new forend on the 22 and their customer service immediately sent out a beautiful, great fitting piece of wood for it. Their larger caliber lever guns were always way to nice for me to want as I felt them to be better mantle pieces. I have used and shot the hell out of that little 22. The 357 I bought her is by far the nicest lever gun between us. As I’ve paid more attention to Henry over the last 10 years or so, they definitely have produced more woods guns and Rifles designed to be used..... Still the lack of a loading gate for a rifle I use in the field held me back. Don’t really need anything but if I did, one of the blued or all weather versions with a side load option would have to be a consideration.

Side gate is very good for topping up rounds then when done for the day tube cap can be used to unload without having to cycle the rounds.
