It is coming out in a bolt action but I cannot imagine the AR platforms not jumping on it. In a bolt action, for me, I would get a 35 Whelen, but then again I am not limited to straight cases. The cartridge is not lever friendly but I can see a lot of interest in it. At one time the IPSC shooters were using shortened 223 brass for making major with a 9mm. They could get some pretty impressive velocities out of them. This is the concept taken to a rifle. It has typical Winchester hype. To read their hype it exceeds the 30-30 and other B.S. Just a matter of what load you use in the 30-30. A 35 does not give good downrange ballistics until one gets to over 200 grains no matter how you point the bullet. The Hornady 35R LE is no great performer at 200 yards compared to many other cartridges and it is still a little hotter than this round.

I just lost interest. I thought it was a new rimmed case on the order of 375w only 35 cal. I'll stick with 375w.

Well, they already can convert a Lever Action into a 450 Bushmaster, I have one and love it, but hey, another lever gun caliber? Can't go wrong with that! Wish someone would make a Lever gun in 450BM that didn't require spending a lot of money for "customization".

As an aside, the Winchester XPR budget bolt is a fine, low dollar platform. I bought a compact 7mm08 for my wife and for $275( less a $75 rebate) it is a fine shooter.

It started as a wildcat using straightened 223 cartridges. Moleman explained how he made his for hunting in MI he called it 357AR i like that better than 350 Legend

I don't get what would be the point of this one.
    Why build a straight-walled cartridge on a 223 case
Is there nothing better to work with?

I think the new cartridge is designed for the AR-15 platform, I doubt it will be used in lever guns.

Chamber the new round in a CZ527. Get a nice, classy 5.5 lb bolt carbine for deer with real walnut and blue steel. The bolt face and magazine are already set up for the .223 family. Scope mounts are integral, and NECG makes a peep sight that mounts to a 527 rear scope base.

Its for states that require a straight case to use a rifle. Other than for those states or an AR it has little purpose. Should work on the lighter AR15 frame where the others are AR10.
