    daily dose of sanity

im still pretty fresh on marlin owners. not fresh to marlins, just never had the internet. i spend a bit of time every single day on this website now like its a daily cup of coffee. im still reading stuff and finding awsome informative topics and things that i would have liked to have known long before now. some of the threads are not as the subject states and are chalked full of info. as im browsing im still feeling new on this site every time i enter. thers some truely great opinionated discusions tucked away plus womens place, thers even more than i know about and for now im still in fill up mode. sorry bout the rant, kinda wanted to thank MO for the daily dose of sanity.

That is one reason WHY I like this website more and more. It is not 'super strict' if you sway a bit from one subject matter and share information about something else that may have something to do with the original post. They are not anal retentive and the moderators are NOT control freaks. Thank goodness!

    Take care.

+1 I have a really hard time staying on topic for several reasons. Other sites I've been on really get down on you for sharing a story that leads away from the topic; it's a story you want to share with someone that has posted on the topic and "by the rules" you should start a new thread. But I don't want a thread I just want to tell my story. I too see this site as a daily dose of sanity, although highly addictive and don't know what I'll do when I get a new job!

    Re: daily dose of sanity

That's IT! I was trying to figure out why the "feel" of this place is so much different than other forums, and Sweetwater and Cathrine nailed it..

Getting on here is like walking into a room with a bunch of your friends. A conversation very seldom ends when the topic has run it's course, a single line in a chat can lead to more and different conversation. And you stay as long as you like, and then leave. Come back, and there's been more friends that have stopped while you were away.

And there's always the couple friends that poke at each other (PJ and Barenjager; FWiedner and everyone else; Hal and those of us that like see thru's) You know what I mean

What other website would let me take up server space writing a fictional semi-post-apocalyptic story to help me keep my sanity while a couple herniated discs heal!!!

    Re: daily dose of sanity

I've never been accused of sanity , but I love this place. It's like getting up every day and sitting around a campfire with friends, jawing about what we love, shooting and hunting in general and Marlins in particular. I've made quite a few friends here, most of whom I've never met face to face. But, this past weekend, I got to meet some of my Florida friends in a gathering, and it was like we'd known each other forever. What a great bunch of folks hang out at this site.
