No chandelier, but we have a very old Tiffany lamp that will go somewhere in there.
This last weekend was supposed to be flooring, but since flooring materials (1X6 tongue and groove pine) didn't come in we had to change plans a bit. Went to a cedar yard about 35 miles south of the place and bought some 2X12, 2X4, and 1X8 stock and built desk top, shelves and brackets that will house computer and stereo eqpt. Turned out pretty good we think! The desk top is 24X48 and shelves are 13X48.

Thanks again for looking -- more on the chandelier on the news at 3 AM John

Went down to the place this weekend with every intention of installing flooring -- flooring came but quality was terrible so sent it back to the yard! Bad thing as we had friends there to help us get it installed. We worked on other things like the doors for the bathroom and the laundry

And you can see how a real woodworker figures out exact measurements for the kitchen cabinets. Don't think WetDog would approve of this method

We got the music equipment on the shelves P8300135.JPG
The computer will go on the desk below the music equipment but this dial up connection is probably really slowP9250208.JPG

Seriously, this phone was in my house when my wife and I were dating, it's been part of our lives for 50 years so thought it needed to hang in the new house. Thanks for looking! John

Too bad about the flooring, but at least you got some stuff done. Besides, ya gotta have good flooring if ya got good music, elstwise how can ya dance proper?

Re: Where my 1894c hangs out!

Thanks folks for the comments and encouragement! We went down this weekend -- couldn't do flooring because short of hands and need extra help getting the 16 footers thru the upstairs window. Hopefully next weekend will work out.
Spent this weekend putting the doors on the laundry and bathroom. The concept was to have the door from the laundry and the one from the bathroom open and come together across the back porch in case of really crappy weather. First pic is of the laundry door. P9050141.JPG
Second is the two doors closed from the outside of the cabin. P9050143.JPG
Final one is looking toward the laundry with the two doors open. P9050142.JPG

Looks like the idea worked out reasonably well We built the doors from scrap 2X4s and left over pieces of porch flooring. Enjoy! John

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement folks. This thread started as a way to figure out if I had learned to post pics using photobucket (thanks PJ for the help) and this evening it turned over 2500 hits and I was amazed! There'll be more pics in the weeks to come -- if you get bored, let me know! John
