    Cape Buffalo

Taken this August in Zimbabwe with John Sharp, on day 6 of our safari.

Rifle is an AHR in 450 Dakota. I loaded a 550gr Woodleigh Weldcore to just under the Woodleigh max impact velocity recommendation of 2,200 fps.

Hmm...I'm thinking this pic looks an awful lot like your avatar on another forum.

I would love to hear a little more detail about your kill when you have a chance. Nice looking beast.

We got on the tracks of this Dagga Boy herd at 0700. Made first contact with buffalo at 0900 and did not leave the herd all day...finally working in around 1600 and shooting this bull at about 1615.

We were within 9-Iron distance of the bulls for over 7 hours before the shot.
