    Whitetail doe with a Marlin

Took this nice little meat doe this morning with my 444. Today was the first time I used this rifle. More about it on the 444 forum.

Congratulations, meat for the freezer. Would like to hear more details... Distance, load, reaction to the shot.

Shot was at 50yds, running straight away. I didn’t want to wreck any meat so I held high. Took her dead center through the back of the head. The reaction was pretty much what you would figure. My load was the old load I build for my uncles 444.

I picked up this rifle last week online. Before taking this doe I zeroed it at 7am. Shot the deer at 7:58. My plan is to work up a load with a Speer 270gr deep curl.
