    1999 JM Marlin Cowboy 30/30

I have had this rifle a week now. I bought it NIB with all the papers and everything. It hasn't been shot so some of you may think I committed a cardinal sin but I took it out and broke it in. I can't own this and not shoot it. I LOVED IT!! I paid $1,100 for it and bought it from a fellow member (KadillacKelly) who just happens to live where I do. It shoots my old tried and true 32 grains of W748 with the Sierra 170 grain flat point amazingly well.

I tried to buy it before my wife found out. Instead of grabbing a check from "our" bank I accidentally grabbed it from "her" bank. Met up and went to write the check and realized I had to return home and get the right one out of her purse (all you married guys know what I'm talking about). Well she caught me, but that's another post for another day.

Here is my Holy Grail I've wanted for a very long time!!

    Thanks Turbo,

These shots were about 65-70 yards. Shot 2 then moved it a little right and shot 2 more. Bonus is that my brother and I went out scouting this morning and seen a lot of mule deer and white tail. Some good bucks running around. I have a fist full of doe tags and one buck tag. I don't even care about hunting a big buck. This past year I got the Marlinitus BAD. I have this 30/30, a Texan, 35 Remingtons and 45/70s to try out! Going to really have an interesting year I think.

Love those CBs. Is yours a 24"? Nice distinctive wood on the buttstock.

It is a 24 inch barrel. I have a funny feeling it will be in my hands a lot this fall.

    Thanks Marlinjunkie,

Proof even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile. I told my wife it was "meant to be", it was located in Billings Montana......I just HAD to get it. She is still a little sore at me, sometimes a guy just needs push through though.
