    john Deere 40,,,,,,,,,,

    _MG_5631.JPG_MG_5628.JPG_MG_5630.JPG

I bought this sweet little ride Saturday. it is a 1953 john Deere 40, it is as nice as it looks. it starts better than my truck. a man restored it for his son but the son killed himself, sad. it has been painted of course but it was kept under a shed all it's life I believe. it appears to have the original steering wheel with no cracks. I got sick of ridding lawn mowers, constantly breaking and wearing out. I have a 2 acker yard and hunting club roads to cut, this should do. if anybody has knowledge of these tractors please inform me. I and in no way an expert,,,,,,,,,,,

It's not a Hoyt-Clagwell but I'm sure it will get the job done.

that ought to work just don't try to go sideways on any hills, its should be a 40T, tricycle, those old two lunger engines were built to last forever. has it been converted to 12 volts or is it still 6? I've got a few old tractors but no green ones only blue ones and red ones. I love the old tractors like that, they were built to have 9 lives

There are a lot of old tractors around my area. Many have been restored and many are just kept running and working. That looks like a nice JD there. Should out last you and I think parts and such should be easy enough to find online if not local.

Hope it has a power take off PTO. If not you're out of luck on mowers/bush hogs unless you find an old one that is wheel driven.
