What this country needs is a department of common sense! The tree of liberty would be a great place for hang mans ropes!

Entropy disguised as progress. County landfills only get larger. My memories of Colorado have since been reclassified as dreams.

Yep, mostly, you just don't really appreciate something till it is all gone.

Both of my parents were born here also as well as several generations before on my mother side. I see all the development and people constantly moving here to Florida and all the while they are plowing over the land and using up the water supply. It makes me sad to see it and think about what will happen in the years after I am gone and if my kids will be able to even stay here. I remember when Orlando was not that big and there were orange groves as far as you could see up and down 441 and even the turnpike after it was built. Now there are nothing but buildings and roads so crowded you can't even travel them many times. What areas are left will not be that way long as the developers that destroyed South Florida keep moving up this way.
We lived in Micanopy when I was a kid in the early 70's.
Me and my wife have stopped there a few times while going
down 75 to visit her family in Punta Gorda FL.
It has changed some from what I remember.
Yes Southwest FL , Charlotte , Lee , Sarasota Counties have
changed ALOT in the last 30+ years that I have been going there.

I lived all of 1958 in Florida and loved it. The population was under 5 million but today it is 20 million and increasing 500,000 a year. I return to Florida every year for a month and cannot find much of what I remember so fondly. My home in Northern Virginia is now overrun by outsiders from urban centers and liberal politics oppresses us all. Virginians now face draconian gun legislation which in the worst of worlds will become oppressive law. We see this in too many places today. How sad.
