    I found this one while walking down a country road last week. They are not much to look at, but this is all we have in the Texas panhandle...

    Your absolutely right, they do have distinct odor all there own. In my youth me an some friends caught timber rattlers an copperheads. We soon learned that smell of rattlers. An I still know that smell today.
