    Sourdough method...

Looks mighty good! I've used sourdough for cooking for years although mainly in biscuits and pancakes.

Have you used that bread recipe in a Dutch Oven, and if so, what's your method?

    Thanks. L.W.

    Sourdough method...

    That looks great!!
Gives me ambition to start one again!
    Haven't done that in years!

We had a freindship bread go around family & friends a few years back.
Got to the point it wasn't considered friendship if someone gave it to you!!!
    (Too much!!!)
The bread was very good, though!!
Maybe I'll dig that recipe out & make some 'friends'!!

    Sourdough method...

    make it..

mix whole rye or whole wheat flour and water together... use 50/50, make a paste. use like 1/4c of water and 1/4c of flour

let it sit in a warm spot (on top of the monitor?) until you see bubbles on the top, prolly take around 12 hours

mix another 1/4c of water & 1/4c of flour in, and return it to the warm spot.

after a couple days of feeding it like that every 12 hours, it should be bubbling up and rising at least double if not more within a couple hours of feeding it.

i start with organic stone ground whole rye flour from the grocery store..
after the starter is going, i feed it with white flour and water only, once a week..

after you get a good starter going, all you need is flour, salt and water to keep making great bread.. i generally make a couple loaves on sunday for the 3 of us to eat that week
