Finally, scores from the world of rimfire

    Gentlemen,

My sincere apologies for an extended absence during the very event I campaigned for. Many events in my family, some wonderful (I became a grandpa), some not so good (moving in-laws to assisted living and related issues, whew !) and in my 30 years in the financial services industry I don't believe I've ever been more swamped. It has been non stop since April, literally. I didn't even have time to participate in the postal match myself. I have shouldered three Marlins only twice this year. I hope that changes soon.

My thanks to Big Med for the calls and being so prompt with your center fire scores. Big Med's schedule is quite full too.

It's good to be back on the board of Marlin Owners. Below are scores in the 22 match.

Only eight participants but some smokin' scores. Check 'em out:

    50 Yard Scoped Competition

    Member Rifle DFC* Group Sight

    Halwg 39A .283 .271 Simmons Pro Hunter 2-7 x 32

    W30wcf 39A .567 .979 Weaver 8x

    Bofug M56 .674 .993 Cabella Pine Ridge 2-7

    25 Yard Open Sights Competition

    Steelbanger 39A .319 .339 Lyman Rear Peep/Globe Front

    Dag Henry H001 .413 .383 Factory Buckhorn

    W30wfc 39A .549 .561 Tang

    Big Medicine 39M .571 .814 Factory

    Andrus 39A .659 1.065 Factory

    * Distance From Center

Hal absolutely smoked the 50 yard target in the scoped comp but keep in mind, no one used competition grade ammo, it was all bulk.

Steelbanger did a great job on the 25 yard target with his Lyman rear peep.

I appreciate you eight gents participating and entrusting me with your scores.

I am posting this without much review so if these scores or divisions are not exactly what they should be, let me know and I will rearrange.

    Again, many thanks gentlemen.

Wow, I'm surprised at my score since I didn't know how to score it. I think I burned through close to 500 rounds but this was really fun shooting. I used the copy machine at work (don't tell my boss!) and hung 8 targets at a time. Gave me an excuse to shoot the 39A a lot!

You did a great job, Hal. I measured c to c.

For next year... to all who will see, you don't have to shoot like Hal to have a great time putting targets on the bag. And you don't have to burn 500 rounds like Hal. I believe the most I have ever printed for the Postal Match is 25 with my .308 MX.

Just remember for next year, a grand ol time can be had by all.

    Sidespin,
THANK YOU for your efforts in scoring the targets and posting the results. It would have been nice if there were more participants but 8 is a nice start......
Congratulations to Hal and Halwg! Very nice shooting gentlemen!

Well, after having fallen of the edge of the planet for a spell, it's nice to be back - sorry I missed this one.... Will definately be participating next year !!
