    336 w/ New Boyd's Stock

I'm happy with my purchase of a Boyd's stock in nutmeg laminate for my 1974 336 in 35 Rem. Out-of-the-box fit was good. The grip is a bit thicker than the original stock, which suits my big hands. The checkering and fat recoil pad are both welcome.

That laser checkering looks better than I thought it would.

I should take pics with a better camera. The checkering looks even better than these pictures suggest.

Nice upgrade! I like what Boyd's has to offer in stocks. You chose a nice color combo for your rifle. Enjoy it much!

Would the original Marlin but plate fit on the boyds Stock?
I've been thinking about one in walnut ever since I bought my 336W.
I put Boyds on two Bmags and a Coast to Coast 843 30-30 bolts action.

Yes, the original Marlin plate will fit after some grinding. The dimensions of the spacer (the plastic plate between the wood and the butt plate) for both the original and the Boyd's are about 4.8" tall by 1.8" wide. Boyd's is just a tad smaller, though.

Okay... Here are hi-res pics of the checking.

There are little bits of lint caught in the checking. These are NOT imperfections.
