Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. Just been real busy with work since vacation. I took off a week and did what I wanted around the house. Went squirrel hunting, shot all my guns for deer season. Casted some boolits, reloaded some ammo. And did get my stock fitted better. You know, a good vacation. I did spend a couple days with the wife just travelling around locally. Have to keep her happy as she's a good one.

So far my best load is a 200 gr corelok over some leverevolution powder. Just under an inch at 50. The bore slugs .3595 as best I can tell and my boolits are just a tad small at .359. best groups with cast are around 2" at 50. I'll keep working on some loads and maybe I'll find the right one.

    Just saw this thread -

I'm a traditional blued-steel and walnut kinda guy myself, but dang - that's a great looking rifle! The color combo really works! Nice vision and follow through.

My 1955 SC in 35 Rem. I love my 35 with the Boyd's stock set. And I will add yours looks very nice also. The best part of these stock sets is the fore grip is slim like my Cowboy is.

I ordered a Boyd’s rapid fire stock for my Remington 770. The gun felt cheap (which it is) in the factory plastic stock. I’m not super impressed with the Boyd’s. The plastic trigger guard is junky. The one action screw was too short. I knew some fitting would be in order so I’m fine with that part. I’m working on bedding it now.
Been wanting to put a Boyd’s on my 1950 336, but their forend measurements don’t line up. I did some measuring and found out that my 1894 forend will fit on it so maybe the Boyd’s 1894 forend would work.

Hmmm... with all due respect, I’m still conflicted. But it’s the OP’s rifle, and the important thing is he likes it.

I keep coming back to this thread looking at the grey (OP) and red stocks as pictured (#36) and can't help but think a blue buttstock and forearm would look super on my 336A with a black cerakote coating...... I currently have a set of furniture from Boyds with their best walnut but the more I look the more I am thinking of throwing convention out the window and going with the blue laminate and a black coating.....

As I am a certified geezer this line of thought is quite the jump for me.

I like it. I love it. Can't get enough of it.
