the more i shoot it the better it gets!

the more i shoot it the better it gets! my new 40 cal. NC mountain rifle. the group to the right is off hand. I had a couple of shots lower not in the photo, then I stopped flinching! and settled down and shot better. the center is 5 shots off the bench, "I think" could be 6 the load was 55gr. of 3f swiss .18 pillow ticking and ballistol lube. now all I need is a deer in front of the barrel,,,,,,,,,,,_MG_5421.JPG_MG_5408.JPG_MG_5414.JPG

Beautiful Rocklock, I have a very deep love for Flintlocks, Blackpowder has been in my blood as long as I can remember!
age 12 I bought my very own cap lock at Frienship, it needed work, and the venders helped me get it going!
Since then, I always had a BP gun around me!
Ive offend thought about having my favorite Rocklock buried with me when I pass.
When I learned to read, all I read was about the longhunters, Mountain Men, and such.
The smell of burnt Blackpowder still makes me feel like a Kid!

Their are only two kinds of people, those who own a 444 and those who wish they owned one, and yes folks, denial is bliss!

Not much has really changed in the world in 2000 years, Christians are still being thrown to the Lions! and Satan's tool of Deception is still working like a charm, from the time of Adam and Eve, to today!

That is one purty rifle! I agree with you Starrbow, there's nothing quite blackpowder smoke in the air. I've got a nice looking Lyman Trade Rifle that I'm ashamed to say, I haven't fired in over 20 years. I don't guess black powder goes bad does it? Still have a pound or two in the locker.

I don't like cleaning them, but I love shooting them.
