    I had two Springer's crossed with brittany's
They were my hunting buddies right up till I went into the service.
I told this story a while back. The morning I left home, I said my goodbyes to mom and dad, then my mom told me to go out and say goodbye to champ and lady..
I had no idea it would be the last time, i would ever see my two best friends.

I have been blessed recently with an 8 mo old female Flat coat retriever......very birdy......excellent house companion.

Like you Guy...she has adopted us as hers.
I am so excited to take her out for pheasant in a few weeks.
I will try to post a couple photos in a few.

He's a purebred German Wirehaired Pointer - of the "liver" coloring. But, I've seen an awful lot of similarities with the Pudel Pointers, Pointing Griffons and Drahthaar breeds. I think they were all bred for similar purposes and probably with similar origins.

Pointed a rooster pheasant on our morning walk today.

There is a lot to be said for "hybrid vigor".
One of my best dogs was like that. Mom was a springer spaniel, dad a fence jumping lab. I found her as a puppy in the free ad section of the local newspaper. Today they would call her a Springador or some such foolishness and charge $600 for one.
