Great pics. I've only been to AK a couple times but loved it up there. Tried to get the Mrs to move up years ago and she said no. Now she is okay with moving up there but we are kind of anchored by work. That bull in the first pic looks quite respectable. Pretty good shovels on him. I am surprised to hear it gives you gas. I guess my Mrs would just have to get use to it. Haha. I thought Moose tasted great, maybe a little better than elk.
I hear tell that more Alaskans are hurt by moose than bear. I could see that being quite true.

    Nothing timid about a moose.

Moose is my favorite table fare of all red blooded critters.

If I looked out and saw a big bull moose in my back yard, I'd load me shorts!

Great pictures ! And I thought dealing with whitetails in the garden was a problem. Been to Alaska twice and there is nothing like it.

I'm conflicted. I don't know whether to be jealous or feel sorry for you.

From where I sit, I think that is SO COOL!

However, I can also see how it would get to be a giant PITA real quick.

Moose on our runway, North of Fairbanks. This cow and calf are keeping the bushes trimmed. I keep the dog on a leash when they are around.

Don't feel sorry for me, and you should be jealous. Awesome place here, but, "Winter is coming Jon Snow".
No it's very nice to share our piece of dirt with the various critters. Just makes me appreciate where I live, only hear a small plane headed west couple times a day, oh, and the train down in the bottom of the valley. Other then that, it's quite. Moose don't make much noise, so I just keep an eye open, normally no problems.

That's why I lead with jealous.
You are a lucky man, and even luckier to know it... good for you.
