My latest addition - a Zane Grey Century

I thought I should share the latest addition to my safe. It sits in there next to my 1894M, and seems very happy.

It's a Marlin 30-30, the Zane Grey Century model, so it has a pistol grip stock and a 22 inch tapered octagonal barrel. It isn't quite excellent in condition, but it's close enough, and it shoots far better than I can. I was lent this rifle to shoot at the Nats in Rankin Springs, and the owner decided to sell it and offered it to me (as he knew I was in love).

I haven't seen another, but I don't have to now, as if I want to see one I can look at mine! God it's a nice rifle.......

My ZG is the only rifle I hunt with since I bought it. I did replace the stocks with some laminated ones because I did not want to ruin them while hunting. The new stocks make it a heavy beast, but I don't care because its mine. My rifle loves the Hornady LR rounds and makes shooting over 200yds seem easy. Mine is wearing a Leupold Rifleman scope in the 3-9x40 size and I love it. Hope it bring you as much joy as mine does, take care & God Bless.

Thanks for that Mikeflies. Mine won't do much hunting at this time, as I'm fully into silhouette at the moment, but I understand you loving yours. A 165gr pill seems to be the go for knocking over rams, and that's the hardest part of the comp. I'm a happy camper at the moment, so it's all good.

Beautiful rifle! I've always had a warm spot in my heart for octagon barreled Marlins. Put it to good use!
