    450 Marlin dies.

G'day all . Local gun pusher just swindled me out of $100 deposit on a 2000 model , ported 1895M. I did my best to resist by telling him about the lack of ammo [ even in his shop ] in this country. Bullets & powder not a problem, cases might be hard to find, and I couldn't find a shop with dies in stock.
Before I buy or order a set, I thought i'd start a fight about which dies you think are the best. If LEE made them, I doubt we'd be having this conversation , its all I have ever used and had no issues. I'm leaning towards RCBS, but would like to hear everyone's opinion. Cheers.

I've always had good luck with the Lee dies... If you do go RCBS see if you can pick up a Lee Factory Crimp Die...

I have used RCBS, Redding, Lee, and Lyman dies in various calibers over the last 45 years. RCBS is my standard preference simply because I prefer their locking ring over that of Lee. When I owned a 450ME I used RCBS dies.

For the guys of "Remember When", I started with dies and press made by Belding and Mull.

    Hi Boris

I searched high and low for a set of Lee dies for this calibre but ended up with a set from Hornady. I must admit that these work very well though I also bought a Lee 45-70 powder through the expander die in which I had a shoulder turned, to accommodate the belt. I also got a Lee 45-70 factory crimp die.

I also use a Lee universal decapping die as I like to clean the shells before I size. Priming I do off the press and it was my intention to use the Lee through the decapping die with a powder dispenser as one of the stations on my turret press. Unfortunately I found I couldn't trust the RCBS or Lyman powder dispensers with H4198.

I weigh every charge at this stage and all goes well
