Finally "pulled the trigger" for a new 1895GS

After 2 months of shopping the major online auction sites I hit a Buy-it-Now for a stainless 45-70. Paid for it, did the FFL with my gunsmith and now settle back for that interminable wait. It's a North Haven gun, and as I have noticed this year, there are a lot of big bore guns out there that don't get shot all that much. The serial number makes it a 2006 production model. Here are a few teaser pix courtesy of the seller:

Now to start saving my dividend checks for ammo. ;)

Gunners right! You are gonna love it! I'm on my 4th 45-70 just like yours except ported! This is the one I will keep! ;D
I quit bidding on a ported blued one the previous evening ( at $518 or so ) because I had an attack of sensible. Then I found this one the next day and all my revolvers but one are stainless and this one appeared almost new looking and....I just wanted it damn it 8)

Enjoy, that is the same gun I shoot except I replaced the sights with xo ghost ring sights and the recoil pad with a limbsaver, both modifications made a world of difference.

Very nice looking gun!
I just got a '07 model and have a '05 Davidson's LTD model en route vis UPS.
Will post pictures of both once the LTD gets here.
I agree with what you are saying about them not seeing a lot of use.
Neither of the ones I recently purchased had a full box shot through them.
Congrats on a fine purchase!

It does look good and those stocks have that good dark walnut and nice grain. Make sure you post some good pics when you get the gun.

Here is my 2004 1895GS - Kimber .45ACP Gold Match II just happens to be hogging some picture time - - - -

I need to take another picture because the lighting makes the front stock look darker than the rear but the rear is actually identical to the front.
