Anyone else using a long eye relief scope?

I just put a 5" eye relief scope on my guide gun. Is anyone else using something like this? I really didn't like getting bumped with the scope that I was using before this one. The focus is very sharp, and I really like the full 5" of eye relief. Nothng going to hit me in the head like that.

I use a leupold that has a 4 inch relief. I enjoy it, and with my eyes that far back I can open my other eye to see if a bigger deer is around   seriously, I like the longer relief scopes, to me they let you get a sight picture quicker.
'll think of something gimme a minute

    Which scope is that?

My 1895GS has a Weaver K2.5 on top, with about 4" eye relief.

My 1895gg has a 4x Simmons Pro-diamond shotgun scope on it. It has great eye relief and it is scaled to the rifle. This scope has been on this rifle for a long time and with alot of heavy loads run through it!

That is a nice looking rig there. I notice that you said that the rifle was "scaled" to the gun. I, too, don't like the looks of a large scope on these rifles. Nothing over a 32mm, and nothing too long either. Best - Ted

My 336C wears a 2.5x7 Leupold. Nice long eye relief.

I also got a Leupold 4x12 for my .243 bolt gun ('78 vintage Ruger M77) for the specific reason of longer relief. That's my varmint gun and I had a Bushnell banner scope that I couldn't crane my neck far enough to see through. The Leupold gives me plenty of eye relief whether I am at 4x or 12x magnification.

Anyone else using a long eye relief scope?

I've got IER scopes on four Marlins, the NcStar 2X7, and I love them. The eye relief is perfect, they're not overly big, and the price is right. I'm shooting one on my M-375, and recoil hasn't phased it a bit, after 500 rounds or so. Not exactly a torture test, but I'm happy so far. No worries about getting bonked by the scope, no need for a hammer spur, and great for snapshooting.
