Be sure to have them show you some 444 ammunition. You may change your mind once you see those cases.

Granted, it is a small cartridge but it gets the job done.

I went and looked it over, straight sights-check, rifling-check, metal finish-black not blue, wood-metal fit looks good, forend is wider than some would like, wood has some figure to it. Unable to cycle with ammo in store, felt dry cycling empty. Once at home I found the loading gate stiff as usual and I found it hard to load first round in the tube, second, third & fourth no problem. It went kerfricking BOOOOOM when I pulled the trigger. Other than that so far so good.

    T.S.

I did notice how much smaller the rounds are next to the 45-70 rounds. I did not find the recoil from the 444 Hornady 265gn 'Superperformance' ammo (box says 2400fps) to be to extreme, mild compared to some of my 45-70 rounds. At $50/box for the T4 ammo I need to go shopping for dies & components next.

Will post up a picture later on this weekend after I get some scope rings.

Any Canadians looking, ATM Epps still has 3 left in stock ~$895 CAN.

The date code on the barrel is hard to read, on the box it's 'ON' which would make it July 2019 I think
