    444 Extraction Issue

My new to me 1968 444 won't extract empties. I guess that means I have to have a new one installed or could it be something else. Is this common with Marlins?

When bolt is opened the case remains in the chamber or it will be lying next to ejection port.

Look at the extractor and see if it has a small hook where it grips the case.

There is but it dose not look very pronounced. The extractor is surely not getting a solid grip on cartridge rim.

It may be broke, easy to replace and find the part. Does it have a good L bend at the hook? If not bend it some.

Midway has replacements. I just keep them on had as a repair kit item. Never had to replace one though.

Thank you all for your replies. The place I bought it from is sending it to Willliams for repair at their expense, nice. I realize the parts are cheap and I could do it, but what the h... I'll let them take care of it. The bummer is now I have to wait for it to come back. Was excited to get to shoot it and try my loads. I installed a Happy Trigger in about 45 min. and have just over 4lbs pull and O play.
