OT - Lost My Best Friend

I feel like $&!T. Yesterday I had to put my little Chinese Pug, JunGu (Korean for Big Eyes) down. He went ill pretty fast. Two months ago we found out he had diabetes. We started him on insulin injections & he immediately perked right up. Within 24 hours he was his old self again. He was fine for many weeks & then all of a sudden wouldn't eat. A couple of days after that he started getting jaundiced. I rushed him to the vet but by then he was in irreverseable liver & kidney failure. Yesterday at 14:00 the Vet & I decided to put him down. It was very peaceful & he died in my arms. My wife & I have another dog, a hunting Beagle named Daisy. She (Daisy) has been very attentive to us both, for she misses JunGu too. She has been a great comfort to us; but I sure miss my friend.

(GJ, I posted this here simply because it's the forum where I'm most active & where my MO friends are. If you need to move it let me know.)

My dogs are closer to me than some of my relatives. I wish the good ones would live much longer than they do. Some of my hardest days were when Max , Amber and Diamond went on to the next level.

My sympathies Dawei. I put my Bruno down in October. Don't know why we get so attached to the little guys, but we do.

OT - Lost My Best Friend

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    David,

It hurts like hell, I know. We had to do the same thing a little over a year ago. It was 8 months before I could consider getting another dog. They really get to be important in our lives.

My sympathies for you in this time of loss.

Dawei, sorry for your loss, i know the feeling as I'm sure many of us here do. What Rowdy posted... it's perfect This little mutt (Rusty) has been my best friend for the past 9 years and when his time comes i'm not going to be myself for some time. He showing some hip problems lately, favoring his right leg. When the wife brought him home, his hair dragged on the floor, almost wound up named Enddust!
